About the event
This free rdhu and 3M Canada sponsored event addresses the caries process, treatment offerings that assist in preventing future lesions, and how to have tough conversations about these issues with the patient. This course explores topical fluoride treatments, what constitutes an effective varnish, the ease of the application process, and client evaluation utilizing the Caries Management by Risk Assessment (CAMBRA®) – a tool that effectively helps determine the need for an in-office fluoride treatment. The course also reviews the guidelines for glass ionomer treatment procedures, take-home treatment options, and overall oral health strategies to keep your patients healthy over the years.
Upon completion of this lecture, you should be confident in:
1. Describing the caries development process and appropriate intervention strategies 2. Verbalizing clinical findings to patients and/or caregivers and offering patient-specific prevention strategy methods 3. Developing and implementing effective in-office fluoride and glass ionomer treatment protocols 4. Developing and implementing effective at-home fluoride treatment protocols
